Acid House: Are rave flyers a true reflection of their past?

Editorial

Printed on Reused/Offcuts of different G.F. Smith papers
This publication responds to my dissertation, "Acid House: Are Rave Flyers a True Reflection of Their Past?" by using rave flyers to explore key themes from the essay and narrative. Each flyer heading comes directly from the dissertation, the flyers, created in just two days to mirror the fast-paced production of original rave flyers, showcase DIY and copyleft culture. On top of that the publication highlights themes of transcendence, paganism, the impact of ecstasy and music on the subculture amongst others. The essay focuses on the 'golden age' of flyer design from 1988 to 1993 and emphasises the strong link between flyer content and the culture it represents.
