A personal reflection in the form of a publication of the essay-film made by Chris Marker, a film-to-book adaptation. The publication explores the theme of the inadequacy of memory, a factor which Marker questions throughout the film and the consistent colour theme throughout reflects my interpretation of the idea of a ‘sunless’ world. The film was quite rugged in its nature, which I’ve tried to maintain with the composition throughout the publication. The visual language in the film spoke much more to me than the naration and so it was important for me to reflect that, image first type second - but also finding a balance between the two where it’s cohesive. My use of the numbers further exagerates his play on the inadequacy of memory.
